The ICMQ certification scheme is aimed to the operators on the laying of discontinuous clay roofs (tiles and roof tiles). The examination provides, besides a written test on the technical and legislative knowledge related to the laying, a practical test in which the applicants have to lay a mantle roof covering in roof tiles or tiles using some of the techniques today adopted for making "ventilated" a roof covering: 

• hooks system,  
• roof battens system,  
• system with moulded panels,  
• system for ridge lines.  

The examination also provides the presence of "critical spots" like chimneys, valleys, hips or windows in pent roof.
