ICMQ intends to be the point of Italian reference for the activities of certification and inspection in the construction sector.  
ICMQ operates in conformity to the international, European and national standards that regulate the activity of the certification bodies and it intends to furnish in the building and construction sector a service of high standard of quality. To this end it accomplishes a policy of high specialization of its own structure, it follows the activities of standardization, it promotes and collaborates to the realization of application guides and check lists, takes care of the training of its own collaborators, pursues the satisfaction of its owncustomers and the constant improvement of its own service. 
The credibility of ICMQ as certification body leader in the construction sector springs from the competence and impartiality that it has always shown. Impartiality guaranteed also through the analysis and the management of the possible conflicts of interest that could be born in consequence of the developed activities. For this motive ICMQ has performed and it maintains updated an analysis of the threats to the impartiality and it has constituted a Committee with the assignment to guard on its own behaviour. 
Besides, ICMQ is determined to promote the culture and the application of the quality systems, of the systems of control of the products, of the environmental management systems and the occupational health and safety management systems in the construction sector. It pursues this target through presentations, training courses, conferences and publications directed to bring the organizations toward a dimension of effectiveness, efficiency and continuous improvement of the own processes/products, of the management of the environmental aspects, of the pulling down of the rate of accidents and professional illnesses, above all through the education and the share of the company human resources.  
ICMQ promotes collaborations with other European bodies particularly working in the construction sector, in order to realize mutual recognitions founded upon real and homogeneous operational formalities. 
To define, to measure and to progressively improve the level of quality of the certification activity, ICMQ realizes programs to:  

• extend and maintain the accreditation for the various lines of certification/inspection and validation;  
• achieve and maintain the qualification for the sector mandatory certification and participate in active and continuous way to the tasks of the sectorial groups for the products of competence of the GNB (Group of the notified bodies);  
• maintain the obligation, for the auditors, to achieve and to preserve the qualification level controlled by the ICMQ regulations;  
• promote the professional certification of the own auditors, near accredited bodies;  
• make to Accredia available the ICMQ experience collaborating, if required, to task groups with the purpose to improve the effectiveness of the Italian certification system;  
• realize with Italian and foreign other certification bodies a relationship of mutual informative aiming to improve its own operational tools, to get improvements in the efficiency/effectiveness of the service and an alignment in the criterions of evaluation.  

The ICMQ top management are constantly taken up to promote this policy and to verify its correct application; to this end it annually plans a "plain of the quality objectives", fixing tasks and times of realization.
